Kanpur: Female students of Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University on Wednesday organised an awareness drive to mark Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam-2023, through poster exhibitions, human chains and slogan campaigns across the campus. Students prepared creative posters highlighting the theme of women’s empowerment. They also shared inspirational messages and quotes to spread awareness among peers and visitors. The programme was conducted under the “Abhiyan” campaign and was attended by the Dean of Student Welfare as the chief guest. The event was organised under the leadership of Associate DSW and NSS Atal Unit Programme Officer, Mamta Tiwari. Addressing the gathering, DSW Anshu Yadav and Dr Mamta Tiwari spoke on the growing role of women in society and emphasised the importance of self-reliance and safety. The day also marked the conclusion of “Astra”, a self-defence training programme conducted as part of the initiative. A judo-karate team led by Vijay presented a demonstration of self-defence techniques, which received appreciation from the audience. The programme concluded with students forming a human chain on the theme of ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’.
