Jhansi: Additional chief secretary, medical health, family welfare, and medical education, Uttar Pradesh Amit Kumar Ghosh along with his team had a marathon meeting with all the health officials of Chitrakoot and Jhansi division here on Wednesday to review various parameters under the ongoing statewide supportive supervision system under the National Health Mission (NHM), designed to enhance the quality of care by shifting from punitive, top-down inspections to a collaborative, mentoring-based approach. He was accompanied by the Mission Director of NHM Pinky Jowel.During the meeting, assurance was given for a well-equipped divisional hospital in Jhansi to ensure better healthcare access. The proposed facility may include a 100-bed cancer wing also. The divisional commissioner Bimal Kumar Dubey assured that land availability for the project would be ensured.Reiterating the governmentтАЩs commitment, Amit Kumar Ghosh said that no compromise would be made in providing quality healthcare to the poor. He directed the officials to ensure immediate deployment of MBBS doctors at the local level and to maintain a waiting list to avoid shortages.The key highlight of the meeting was the appreciation of Jhansi divisionтАЩs innovative initiatives. The monthly evaluation format for health services, introduced in Jhansi, will now be implemented across Uttar Pradesh. The initiative, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) training, received special commendation.On this occasion efforts of CMS Lalitpur Dr Raj Narayan were also praised for delivering quality child healthcare services in his district while setting an example for others.Pinky Joval stressed strict adherence to government directives, stating that any negligence in patient care will not be tolerated. She instructed that Ayushman Arogya Mandirs must open on time, warning of strict action if found closed.Earlier, during his visit to the district hospital on Tuesday late night, Ghosh while talking to the reporters pointed out that the hospital building is quite old and needs renovation including more cleanliness, painting and repair works. He also specified not to ask patients to buy medicines from outside while ensuring that the government has allocated an adequate budget for medicines and under no circumstances it should be bought from outside.On a question raised over the presence of rodents and pests, Ghosh clarified that such things should immediately be removed as they are critical in spreading the diseases. He also assured that shortage of doctors and other amenities will be removed. тАЬSupportive Supervision is a statewide effort to support all the health facilities including the district hospitals, medical colleges and AAM which are more than 16000 to improve the health amenitiesтАЭ, Ghosh said.
