JAIPUR: The 300-year-old city of Jaipur is set to mark World Heritage Day Saturday with a series of events, many centred in the Walled City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the City Palace Museum. The celebrations aim to spotlight Jaipur’s architectural legacy, conservation efforts and the continuing relevance of historic spaces in a rapidly changing urban landscape.Officials said the line-up includes talks, heritage walks and interactive sessions focused on the city’s built heritage.“The Museum will host a series of programmes engaging with ideas of heritage, conservation, and the evolving relevance of historic spaces. It includes a talk by archeologist Kavita Jain on “Revival of Heritage Places Through Adaptive Reuse” and another by historian Shikha Jain on “Living Heritage and Resilient Jaipur,” stated an official.Additional sessions are planned at the City Palace and Jaigarh Fort, designed to give participants a closer look at architectural details and curated exhibits. The Jaipur Municipal Corporation will also organise an event through its Heritage Cell.“Several organizations will host heritage walks on Saturday morning. Through these walks, we would explore the known and untold histories of the streets and havelis of Jaipur,” said conservation architecture Chandni Chowdhury.
