JAISALMER: Candidates from the desert border districts of Barmer and Jaisalmer secured the top two positions in Rajasthan in the RAS Exam-2024 results released by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) on Saturday. Dinesh Vishnoi from Barmer district secured 1st rank, while Veerendra Charan from Jaisalmer district secured 2nd rank. Celebrations were reported in both districts, with families distributing sweets. According to information received, Rampuriya village in the Pokaran Assembly constituency of Jaisalmer district marked the occasion after Veerendra Charan secured 2nd rank across Rajasthan and was listed in the top 20. Veerendra Charan’s father, Jethoodan Charan, is a head constable in the Rajasthan Police and is currently posted at Tanot Police Station in Jaisalmer Police. The result prompted celebrations within the family and the Jaisalmer Police department.
Head constable Jethoodan said his son’s success was due to consistency. He said that in the previous examination, Veerendra was selected for the post of tehsildar and is currently undergoing training, and that he continued his preparation and secured a place in the state’s top two in this examination. After news of Veerendra’s selection and 2nd rank reached Pokaran and Rampuriya, villagers celebrated. In Ramgarh, where Jethoodan’s family is based, people also congratulated the family and distributed sweets. Veerendra’s family includes two brothers and one sister. Youth in the region are reportedly awaiting new vacancies for RAS-2026. In Barmer, Dinesh Vishnoi, a resident of the Dhorimanna area, topped the RAS Exam-2024. Dinesh Vishnoi, who hails from Bhalisar village in the Dhorimanna area of Barmer district, secured 1st rank. In the earlier RAS-2023 exam, his rank was 57th, and he was a gram sevak. In the 2023 exam, he received the RPS cadre and is currently undergoing training in Jaipur. His father, Ramdhan Manju, retired as District Education Officer. Dinesh has four siblings and is the youngest in the family. His family celebrated the result, distributing sweets. In the top-20 list released by RPSC, two candidates from Balotra were also included: Bhupendra Singh at 9th rank and Kailash Kumar at 13th rank.
