Kanpur: An unidentified young woman was found murdered with a sharp weapon in Farrukhabad district late Friday night with her body recovered from a roadside ditch near Kali Nadi bridge on Chhiramau road under Jahanganj police limits.According to police, the incident came to light after passing bikers informed Prem Chaturvedi, a resident of Udhranpur in Kannauj district, about a body lying near the bridge. Acting on the information, Sainmir outpost in-charge Ramjit Tiwari reached the spot with police personnel and alerted Jahanganj police as the area fell under their jurisdiction.Subsequently, sub-inspectors Rambabu, Brajesh, and Kanhaiya Lal from Jahanganj police station reached the scene. The victim, dressed in a T-shirt and lower, had sustained severe injuries, with her clothes soaked in blood from head to abdomen.Police cordoned off the area and called in a forensic team to collect evidence. The body was found in bushes nearly 15 feet below the road near the bridge. Chhiramau Inspector Kapil Dubey also visited the spot.Station House Officer Poonam Awasthi said that the identity of the deceased could not be established till late at night. efforts are underway to identify the woman and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the murder.
