Kanpur: A 24-year-old tea stall worker was arrested Sunday for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl after tying up her 10-year-old brother in Kanpur.The siblings knew the accused, who allegedly lured them on the pretext of taking them for a stroll Saturday, but instead led them to a desolate spot. Pretending to play a game, he first bound the boy’s limbs with a rope and deserted him near a bridge. He then raped the girl, police stated.The survivor told police that she kept screaming, but the accused did not let her go. He even threatened to strangle her. He fled the spot after the crime, abandoning the kids, cops said.The children later reached home and confided in their father, who approached police, leading to the arrest. Cops booked the accused under relevant sections of the BNS and Pocso Act, Inspector Deenanath Mishra said.
