Jaipur: The fire wing of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) concluded its Fire Safety Week Monday.Officials said the week-long campaign, held from April 14 to 20, focused on raising public awareness about fire prevention and safety amid growing risks in urban and industrial areas.“We conducted mock drills across around 90 buildings and institutions, sharing detailed rescue and safety protocols to be followed during fire emergencies,” said Praveen Kumar, deputy commissioner (fire), JMC.Authorities noted that rapid urbanisation, the rise of high-rise structures, industrial expansion and technological advancements have made fire incidents more complex and challenging for responders.“The aim was to sensitise people associated with such buildings. These drills also helped us assess the preparedness of our fire personnel,” said Gautam Lal, chief fire officer.Officials emphasised that awareness, preparedness and regular drills remain crucial to minimising loss of life and property during fire incidents.
