Kanpur: A man travelling from Mumbai to Gonda to attend a family wedding was found dead on the roadside, about 23 kilometres from Panki station, after his family alleged poisoning.The deceased was identified as Solahu (40), a resident of the Vashi area in Mumbai, who owned a hotel there. He is survived by his wife Samta, daughter Seema, and a son.Solahu’s nephew Rambali said that he also worked in Mumbai. His uncle and he had left Borivali on Monday morning at 8:50 am on a special train bound for their village, where nephew Kanhaiya’s wedding was scheduled on April 26, he said.Rambali said the train halted briefly at Panki station at around 4 pm, and during the stop, Solahu got down without informing anyone. The train departed, but he did not return.Rambali informed family members and began searching for him. Later at night, the family received information that the body was found. Police said nothing was found on him except his Aadhar card.Inspector of Raipurwa police station Ajay Singh said, “Since the cause of death could not be determined from the post-mortem report, the viscera has been preserved. The matter is still under investigation.”
