Kanpur: A man was arrested by the Kanpur Central GRP while he was waiting to board a train to Bihar to deliver 14 kg of ganja valued at Rs 15 lakh in the international market.The GRP conducted a checking drive along the railway track beyond the Hiraganj bridge, during which a suspicious youth was stopped and frisked. A large quantity of ganja was recovered from his bag, after which he was brought to the GRP police station and interrogated.The accused, Ravindra Kumar (25) of Jamui in Bihar, disclosed that he was waiting for a train to travel to Bihar to deliver the consignment.Inspector-in-charge of GRP, Kanpur Central, Om Narayan Singh, said GRP and RPF officials at Kanpur Central nabbed a smuggler with 13.9 kg ganja worth Rs 15 lakh. The accused turned to smuggling as he was out of work.Police found several ganja packets in his bag, booked him under NDPS, and sent him to jail.
