PM failed to keep poll promise on Cong schemes: Gehlot

Jaipur: Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Saturday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to honour a key election promise, alleging that several welfare schemes launched under the previous Congress govt were discontinued or weakened in the state.Gehlot said Modi assured voters that no Congress-era scheme would be stopped if the BJP came to power. тАЬThe promise was made to secure votes, but was not implemented,тАЭ he said.In the 20th chapter of his social media series тАЬIntezaar Shastra,тАЭ Gehlot claimed that the BJP-led state govt has gone against the PMтАЩs assurance. He described the alleged discontinuation and modification of welfare programmes as a тАЬwell-planned conspiracyтАЭ driven by political vendetta.
