Jhunjhunu: Amid crop losses caused by recent rain and hailstorms, UDH minister Jhabar Singh Kharra said girdawari is underway and farmers will receive compensation under relaxed norms, while also commenting on political developments.Addressing reporters in Sikar on Saturday, Kharra said crop damage is being assessed through two channels. “Girdawari is being conducted at the govt level, and farmers can also upload details of losses from their fields using a mobile app,” he said.Taking a dig at the previous Congress regime, he added, “There was a time when compensation was given only if damage exceeded 50%. Now, farmers are eligible at 33%, and the compensation amount has also been increased.”On former chief minister Vasundhara Raje’s recent remarks, Kharra said, “Such phases are common in politicsтАФfortunes rise and fall.”At a Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jayanti event, he said great leaders belong to all communities and should not be confined to any one community.
