RIICO plot allotments jump 45% in BJP govt’s first two years

Jaipur: Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) sold 3,055 industrial plots in FY25 and FY26, up from 2,105 in FY23 and FY24, the last two financial years under the Congress govt — a 45% rise in allotments.Officials in the industries department linked the increase to policy changes and investor-friendly reforms tied to the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit. “The reforms streamlined land allocation processes, improved infrastructure provisioning, and enhanced ease of doing business, encouraging both domestic and global investors to set up units in Rajasthan,” said a senior RIICO official.RIICO also opened 33 new industrial areas in the past two years. Measures cited by officials include offering plots in underused areas at 60% of the prevailing or reserve price and cutting lease periods from 99 years to 33 years.Suresh Agarwal, president of the Federation of Rajasthan Trade and Industry, said, “The combination of policy push and infrastructure expansion has played a crucial role in boosting investor sentiment.”RIICO has extended the validity of its direct allotment scheme till Dec 31, 2026, in line with state govt announcements, and relaxed rules for MoUs linked to the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit. MoU holders can now submit agreements up to the last date of earnest money deposit (EMD), even after the scheme phase begins.RIICO has also allowed changes in land-use categories in select industrial zones, opening areas earlier reserved for specific industries to general industrial use. The Manpur Macheri industrial area in Jaipur, earlier reserved for leather units, has been reclassified for general industries. Parts of the Integrated Resource Recovery Park at Tholai (Jaipur) and the Medical Device Park at Boranada in Jodhpur have also been opened for broader industrial use, with the newly reclassified area at Boranada named “Industrial Growth Park Boranada Extension.“RIICO officials said the state govt believes continued policy changes will further strengthen Rajasthan’s position as a leading industrial hub in the country.
