Kanpur: Host CSJM University Kanpur outplayed Savitribai Phule Pune University in a well- contested tie by 34-26 and moved into next round of All India Inter-University Men Kho- Kho championship held here on Monday.Lovely University Punjab, in another contested encounter, beat Mumbai University by 33-27 and Mangalore University outplayed Delhi University by 34-30. In other encounters, Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar University beat BNU University by 42-24, Chaudhary Devi Lal University Sirsa beat Kalyani University by 36.26, Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University Nanded beat Sido Kanhu Birsa University by 39-30,Calicut University beat VidyaSagar University by 28-18,Davangere University Karnataka bt Hemchandra University by 32- 23.Earlier in the morning, vice-chancellor Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak formally inaugurated the All India Kho Kho men championship in a simple and graceful function. Pro vice-chancellor Sudhir Kumar Awasthi, Manoj Reddy (AIU Observer) , Shrawan Kumar HOD physical education, Nimisha Kushwaha ( sports secretary) and other professors were present on this occasion.
