JAIPUR: The Rajasthan govt Monday placed State Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) Director Dr Ajay Sharma and three senior officials under Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) after allegations that the lab bought DNA testing kits at prices up to 11 times higher than other states, causing an estimated annual loss of тВ╣7 crore.The action followed a complaint alleging procurement conditions were tailored to favour specific foreign companies, raising questions over transparency in the tender process.Also placed under APO were Dr Anand Kumar (Assistant Director, Serology DNA Division), Dr Ramkishan Kumawat (Senior Scientific Scientist), and Dr Bhawna Poonia (Assistant Director, Serology DNA). All four have been directed to report to the office of the Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department.Dr R.K. Mishra, Additional Director at the Regional FSL in Bharatpur, has been appointed the new Director of FSL Jaipur.
