Kanpur: For the first time in Uttar Pradesh the “City Accelerator Program (CAP) under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana was launched in a grand manner in Kanpur on Monday.This program was organized by the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) and the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) in collaboration with UP NEDA, with the objective of promoting rooftop solar in urban areas and ensuring its accessibility to the general public.On this occasion, Rakesh Pandey, Project Officer, UP NEDA, presented detailed information regarding the various awareness campaigns to be conducted under the City Accelerator Program. He stated that this initiative has been launched with the objective of accelerating the adoption of rooftop solar in urban areas, engaging citizens with the scheme, and bringing about a significant reduction in their electricity bills.Chief guest Neelima Katiyar MLA in her address shed light on carbon emissions, climate change, and the importance of solar panels.
