Jaipur: Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari hailed the womenтАЩs reservation bill as a тАЬhistoric stepтАЭ during the state-level тАЬNari Shakti Vandan SammelanтАЭ at Birla Auditorium Wednesday. The transformative legislation aims to reserve 33% of seats in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies for women. тАЬEvery third voice in the Houses will now be that of women,тАЭ she emphasised, highlighting inclusion of womenтАЩs perspectives in policymaking.Kumari referred to the тАШNari Shakti Vandan AdhiniyamтАЩ as a constitutional change capable of reshaping the future of India. тАЬThis law will not only change politics, but also transform social thinking, where daughters will be seen as a matter of pride rather than a burden,тАЭ she said, articulating her vision for a society that celebrates female empowerment.The event aimed to raise awareness about womenтАЩs reservation and foster a culture of womenтАЩs empowerment across the state. Kumari expressed optimism that girls currently enrolled in educational institutions would one day assume roles as MLAs and MPs, thereby leading the nation.Highlighting the societal shift needed, she remarked, тАЬFuture India will celebrate the birth of daughters with pride,тАЭ emphasising that this evolution should begin within families through education, awareness and trust in girls.
