Kanpur: Defending champions Kanpur retained their title in the UP Inter-Division Under-20 Football Championship, defeating Azamgarh 5-3 in a penalty shootout in Moradabad on Saturday.The final witnessed a tense contest, with both teams displaying strong defensive play in the first half, which ended goalless. Kanpur broke the deadlock in the second half when captain Sameer Arora capitalised on a scoring opportunity to put his side ahead 1-0. Azamgarh, however, made a late comeback as Mohd Kaif scored the equaliser, taking the match into a tie-breaker.In the penalty shootout, Kanpur converted four of their five attempts to seal the match 5-3.
