Kanpur: A newlywed woman, along with jewellery and cash worth lakhs of rupees, went missing from Kudhni Hanuman temple in the Sadh police station area of the city on Monday.Her husband, Saurabh alias Vikas, a resident of Jahanabad, searched for his wife on the temple premises and surrounding areas. On failing to find her, he approached the police and filed a missing person case.According to sources, Saurabh married the woman, a resident of Bindki Kotwali area, about 1 month ago. The couple’s relationship was normal after the marriage.On Monday, Saurabh went to Kudhni Hanuman temple in the Sadh area with his wife to offer prayers. Shortly after reaching the temple, she told him that a friend of hers was at Kudhni Chauraha and needed to be brought by bike. Leaving her at the temple Saurabh went to pick her friend. However, when he returned after looking for the friend, he found his wife missing from there. He searched the temple premises and then in surrounding areas, but she was not found.Her mobile phone was also found switched off. Saurabh said that she was wearing gold and silver jewellery worth approximately Rs 6 lakh and also had Rs 1 lakh in cash with her.Sadh police registered a missing person report on the basis of a complaint filed by Saurabh and began an investigation.The police station in-charge said that the woman’s image was captured in CCTV cameras installed on the temple premises. Police have scanned the footage and are searching for the woman through mobile location tracking.
