Rajasthan man held for duping women via fake matrimonial profiles | Jaipur News



KOTA: Jhalawar Police Friday arrested a man for allegedly deceiving women through fake matrimonial profiles, engaging in obscene conversations, and violating their privacy.The accused, identified as Saurabh Agrawal (36), a resident of Agrasen Colony under the Kotwali police station area, was apprehended following a complaint received earlier this week. Two mobile phones were seized from his possession.Jhalawar SP Amit Kumar said the action was part of Rajasthan Police’s ongoing drive against cyber-enabled crimes. He said that the accused was operating through social media and WhatsApp groups related to matrimonial alliances, where he concealed his identity and approached women under the pretext of marriage.Police said the case came to light Wednesday after an unidentified victim submitted a confidential complaint at Kotwali police station. The complaint alleged that the accused collected personal details of women from matrimonial groups, used fake names and photographs, and initiated conversations that later turned obscene.Investigations revealed that the accused allegedly induced women into sharing private photos and videos, violating their privacy. Police said he created fake matrimonial profiles using fabricated identities and images of others to mislead victims.A case was registered at the Cyber Police Station, Jhalawar, and later transferred to the Women Police Station for investigation. Acting on technical inputs, police traced and arrested the accused.Police said further investigation is underway to identify more victims and examine the extent of the accused’s activities.
