Kanpur: The driver of a tractor-trolley was killed and another feared swept away after the speeding vehicle heading from Naubasta to Dalanpur overturned into a canal in Sen Paschim Para police station area in Kanpur on Wednesday.The deceased has been identified as Ramnath Rajput (35), a resident of Dalnapur in the Naubasta police station area.According to reports, the tractor-trolley lost control while attempting to avoid hitting an oncoming vehicle and overturned into the canal near Naubasta Bamba. In the accident, the tractorтАЩs engine fell on Ramnath, killing him on the spot. Police retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem .On receiving information, police and a SDRF team reached the spot and launched a search operation for the other occupant, a labourer, who was feared to have been swept away in the canal. A search was conducted approximately 5km along the canal, but no trace of the missing man was found until late evening.Sen Paschim Para inspector Pradeep Kumar Singh said search operation is underway and his family has been informed about the accident.
