Kanpur: A traffic constable was assaulted while he was on duty in Nazirabad area after he asked a man to move his car parked in the middle of the road away.Police have registered a report against the driver on the basis of the constable’s complaint, and efforts were underway to trace the driver and the accused, police said.Traffic constable Rakesh Kumar Mishra, posted at the Traffic Police Lines, stated that on the night of April 19, he was on duty. Around 8:25pm, a car parked in the middle of the road was disrupting traffic. When he asked the driver to move the vehicle, the driver started abusing and misbehaving with him.Upon objection, the driver called his associates and they all together assaulted the cop and tore his uniform.He somehow managed to save himself and informed the concerned in-charge and the control room. The accused fled the scene after threatening to kill him.Nazirabad Inspector Pawan Kumar Singh said a report has been registered on the basis of the complaint and efforts are underway to trace the accused car driver and his associates.
