Tributes paid to Dr Ambedkar on his 135th birth anniversary | Kanpur News



The Bhartiya Dalit Panther held a function at Macrobert Ganj Park, where its followers gathered in large numbers to pay homage to Babasaheb. According to its state president Dhani Ram Baudh, a rally was taken out in the evening from Macrobert Ganj, passing through several key areas including Gwaltoli, Nala Road, Arya Nagar, Swarup Nagar, Ghantaghar, Moti Jheel and other localities, before concluding at Phool Bagh near Nana Rao Park.During the event, 14 people were felicitated with the тАЬDr Ambedkar Ratna Samman,тАЭ and were presented with a ceremonial тАШpatkaтАЩ and insignia.The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) also observed Ambedkar Jayanti. Its All India Physical Education head Jagdish Prasad, along with Bhawani Bheekh Tiwari and Vivek Sachan, garlanded the statue of Dr Ambedkar at Company Bagh crossing.At Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJM University), the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences organized a programme to commemorate the occasion. Vice-chancellor Prof. Vinay Pathak, along with faculty members, participated in the tribute ceremony.District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh also paid homage by garlanding Dr AmbedkarтАЩs portrait at the Collectorate. Addressing officials, he described Dr Ambedkar as a great thinker, jurist and social reformer, and highlighted the enduring strength of the Indian Constitution drafted under his leadership.He said Dr Ambedkar considered education the most powerful tool for social transformation, noting that his life continues to inspire generations with its message of equality, justice and empowerment through education.The district magistrate urged the officials to uphold transparency, sensitivity and a service-oriented approach in their duties, adding that treating the public, especially the underprivileged, with dignity and empathy would be the true tribute to Babasaheb.Senior administrative officials, including ADM (Finance and Revenue), judicial and land acquisition officers, city magistrate and other Collectorate staff, were present on the occasion.
