Kota: A 50-year-old assistant engineer with the Rajasthan State Electricity Board (RSEB) was found hanging at his residence in the Dadwada area of Kota under Bhemganjmandi police station limits Tuesday evening, police said. The deceased was identified as Gopalkrishan, who was posted in the metre testing cell of RSEB in Bundi. Police said a suicide note was recovered from his room, but it did not mention any specific reason or name behind the step. However, officials said the note indicated a dispute between him and his wife. Circle Inspector Ramkishan Godara of Bhemganjmandi police station said Gopalkrishan was living with his father in Kota, while his wife, a govt school teacher, and their 16-year-old daughter were staying in Jaipur. His father was also in Jaipur at the time of the incident. His sisters living in Kota and some friends went to check on him Tuesday evening after he did not respond to calls throughout the day. They found him hanging at the house, police said. After post-mortem Wednesday, the body was handed over to family members. Police have registered a case under Section 194 of the BNSS. Sources in RSEB, Bundi, said Gopalkrishan had been under stress and was allegedly struggling with alcohol addiction after receiving a divorce notice from his wife. They said he had attended duty Monday.
