KMC dog catching team attacked in Panki, 3 injured

Kanpur: A municipal corporation team that went to catch dogs in Gangaganj Part 2 area of Panki was attacked by some people late on Wednesday night, leaving three employees injured. The injured employees were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. On being alerted, a UP 112 team arrived at the spot.Chief veterinary officer Dr R K Niranjan said a resident of Gangaganj filed a complaint on IGRS regarding dog attacks. The complaint stated that a family in the area kept four to five country-breed dogs, which frequently attack vehicle riders and bite people.Acting on the complaint, the team reached the area on Wednesday night to catch dogs. Dr Niranjan said that while the dogs were being caught, a family came out and started behaving rudely with them. The employees identified themselves, but the accused attacked them with kicks, punches and a belt.Some people present there also recorded a video of the incident which later went viral on social media. A written complaint would be filed against the accused, said Niranjan.Panki Inspector Manoj Singh said he received information from UP 112 that some people assaulted the KMC employees in Gangaganj. тАЬAction would be taken after investigation,тАЭ said Singh further.
