Ajmer: PHED’s Additional Chief Engineer Ram Chandra Rar led a two-day surprise inspection of drinking water supply across Nagaur district Saturday and Sunday, ordering FIRs against those stealing water by using boosters or breaking pipelines.Rar warned of departmental action against officials failing to ensure regular supply, including in remote villages, and held village choupals to verify ground conditions.At Bawario ki Dhani, villagers said they were not receiving drinking water despite a recently installed pipeline. “I called the engineer concerned and wrned him of consequences,” Rar said.In Degana, officials found new pipelines laid under the Jal Jivan Mission were leaking at multiple points. Rar sought an explanation from the responsible official and directed a report on the quality of work.In Shriram Colony, Nagaur, residents reported no drinking water for the past 10 days. “I have directed to make the list of responsible officials so that they will be transferred elsewhere,” Rar said.The team visited Bera ki Dhani, Panchi Kurd, Degana, Kamadiya, Balaji and other villages, checking recently installed hand pumps and speaking with residents. Villagers were asked to post complaints directly on the portal.In Rol village of Jayal, residents complained their water tank was leaking and that no official responded despite repeated complaints, forcing villagers to pool money and repair it themselves. Rar issued a show-cause notice to the engineer on the spot.Later in Nagaur, Rar chaired a meeting of engineers and told them to seek help from the district administration and police to curb water theft and pipeline damage. “In summer heat, drinking water is an important issue and all engineers are directed to remain in the field and check supply door-to-door,” Rar said.
