Kanpur: Kanpur City has As many as 1.31 lakhs domestic, 460 commercial and 152 industrial PNG connections.Disclosing this at a meeting held under the chairmanship of additional district magistrate (city) Rajesh Kumar to disccuss the expansion of PNG gas connections, senior manager, CUGL, stated around one industrial, 350 to 400 domestic and seven to 11 commercial connections were being released every week. Moreover, a gas pipeline has been laid from Rama Devi to Kalyanpur, he said.The senior manager advised consumers to contact Juhi and Lakhanpur offices of the CUGL for the resolution of their issues. Applications for commercial connections can be submitted online via www.cugl.co.in. The registration fee was fixed at тВ╣3,000 and the connection is provided within 10 days if a pipeline is available and within 30 to 45 days otherwise.Head of GA at IGL stated that approximately 750 km of pipeline has been laid from Ruma to Fatehpur. Currently, 7,667 domestic, 25 commercial and 5 industrial connections are operational. Approximately 20 domestic, one commercial and one industrial connection are being issued every week. Consumers can contact the PNG station office located at Ruma and apply through www.iglonline.in.The essential documents required for hotels, restaurants and banquet halls include GST registration, a food licence, an Aadhaar card and a PAN card, he added. Hotel and banquet hall operators present at the meeting were encouraged to adopt PNG gas connections in their establishments. Officials from CUGL and IGL were directed to establish call centres within their offices and augment their human resources so that applications can be processed expeditiously and connections be provided to consumers within a stipulated timeframe.Furthermore, hotel and restaurant operators were expected to establish mutual coordination, prepare a list of potential consumers based on pipeline availability and provide it to the concerned companies. Instructions were issued to inform the district supply officer or the additional district magistrate (civil supplies) in the event of any problem.The meeting was attended by the ADM (civil supplies), district supply officer, assistant commissioner (food safety), representatives of PNG gas companies, gas distributors, office-bearers of a trade association and operators of hotels and banquet halls.
